Meet the Team

The story of David serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of a strong team. When David suffered an injury that left him unable to move, his family, friends, and acquaintances rallied around him in an incredible show of support. The outpouring of love and well wishes was overwhelming, but it quickly became clear that the demands on David and his family were too much to handle alone.

That’s where the team comes in. While David focuses on his recovery, a small group of individuals have stepped up to keep everyone updated on his progress and support David on his journey. Through social media and other channels, this team also provides a lifeline for David’s supporters, ensuring that they stay connected and informed.

If you wish to reach out to the team for any enquiries regarding David’s story, please send your messages to Sam and Chris via our contact us page.

Chris O'Hanlon

Along with Sam, I take care of the social media updates, website articles and provide 1-2-1 support for Davey. It means a great deal that I can support David and his family through this time and help make his journey less worrying and stressful. I first met Davey as one of his patients. After several years of intense pain, Davey was the first person that made me feel human. He listened and he cared. On hearing about his injury I had to help. As Euripides famously said, ‘When a good man is hurt, all who would be called good must suffer with him".

Sam Pretty

I first met the Leach family back in 2016 when our girls went to pre-school together. Davey has treated everyone I know, including my family. When Louise reached out for help, I dived in head first with the GoFundMe, Social Media and overseeing the family business. It's hard for me to comprehend how it must feel for everyone involved and I know that if the tables were turned someone would help me in my hour of need. So I'm here to support any questions, fundraising ideas, injury enquiries and general PA to Davey and his family.

I'm Eoin, a Dublin based multimedia designer! I've been working in graphic/web design and development for over 20 years! When Chris told me about David's life changing injury I didn't hesitate to offer my services and as a result I designed and built this website. This website was created to give Davey a central place so that family, friends and supporters can follow his progress, make fundraising announcements, raise awareness and fundraise - giving Davey the best chance off success on his way to recovery.
